Basing on the mobile application, which was built in cooperation between Medutools Company, Department of Bone and Joint Diseases of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum, the European Foundation for Osteoporosis and Musculoskeletal Diseases and the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow, we create a bridge between experienced researchers and practitioners on the one side of it and the society on the other.

Pain and disorders of the musculoskeletal system are responsible for 80% of incapacity for work, they both lead to falling and injuries, and in extreme cases can even lead to death.

Our goal is to provide medical information for healthy people in the area of prevention as well as for patients in the field of rehabilitation. All this in a convenient form of a mobile application and using the language understandable to the customer. We are ready to provide the tools for a preliminary self-assessment of the state of musculoskeletal system. Finally – we can support users of the application in their physical exercising. In terms of prevention of the diseases (eg. spine diseases). And also in the rehabilitation process of posttraumatic or postsurgical disorders (with individualization of physical exercises).

The application is developed in Polish and it has a country-wide profile. Thanks to the cooperation with the Danish research cluster our idea can be implemented globally. The application will be released on the market this fall – available for patients, doctors, physiotherapists and people and organizations involved in the promotion of the health of the musculoskeletal system.

At the current stage of application development our main objectives are to:
  • build broad domestic and foreign cooperation for the mobile application to introduce a solution that supports prevention, education and rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system;
  • support the process of creating content for the application (why and what issues should we consider, how to raise them, to whom address them?);
  • promote the application among patients and the medical community for its widest possible use.
We are looking for opportunities for cooperation in order to pursue these issues.  We can offer to our partners:
  • the possibility to apply this software in education of patients and healthy people, to build positive patterns of behavior, to promote healthy lifestyles;
  • a tool to support the rehabilitation of patients (to be used by institutions, individual doctors and physiotherapists);
  • application which allows for an individual selection of sets of exercises for the patient (which will be safe and will support the process of healing).
