21 offers of cooperation on the exploration and development of new drugs, telemedicine and medical diagnosis were presented. The speakers were Cracow university academics, business representatives from across the country as well as international parners of LifeScience Klaster.
Conference was organized in ‘open space’ formula, which encourages collaboration and promotes active use of knowledge and capabilities. Therefore, between presentations the participants had the opportunity for discussion, networking and exchange of contacts. The event was accompanied by consultation desks of partner institutions: Malopolska Regional Development Agency, Centre for Transfer of Technology of the University of Agriculture, Faculty of Pharmacy, Jagiellonian University Medical College, Jagiellonian Centre of Innovation, Assign Group, Passus and the winner of Innovator 2012 prize: Silvermedia company.
Results of two competitions were announced at the closing ceremony of the conference. The prize for the „Open Innovation Best Practice” was given to Monika Piwowar PhD and dr Wojciech Placha PhD from Jagiellonian University Medical College, for the presentation “Combination therapy with new anti-cancer applications of drugs registered.“. In the same category another presentation was honored: Mr’s Matthew Lichoń’s “EcoQUIP Project – perspectives of using innovative solutions and technologies in“. „The Most Compelling Collaboration Offer” prize was awarded to Mr. Jerzy Superata from AfiSen Ltd., for the presentation entitled “The rapid, biosensor, multiplex POCT diagnostic system for sepsis”.
