The Virtual Research Institute Program „polish: Wirtualny Instytut Badawczy – WIB” is an innovative model for conducting scientific activities with a high potential for socio-economic applications. The scientific research area of the WIB program is a medical biotechnology – oncology. XNUMX million PLN was allocated by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education to support research teams. The first call for proposals for financing research teams in the frame of WIB program is planned at the end of XNUMX. The Managing Authority for the WIB program is the Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development in Wrocław.

The presentation will focus on the most important information about WIB program: potential beneficiary list, application and assessment process, implementation of research tasks, benefits and challenges for researches and researches centers.

WIB Program means:
• 450 million PLN for research tasks in the field of medical biotechnology – oncology;
• Selected research teams conducting scientific activities with the high potential for socio-economic applications under the guidance of leaders with recognized scientific achievements;
• Access to resources of research centers from Poland and the entire world;
• Longterm (up to 10 years) and attractive financing for research teams;
• Commercialization of research results conducted by ŁUKASIEWICZ – PORT;
• Share in profits from commercialization for researchers, research centers and Fund for Polish Science;

The presentation will be lead by Paweł Kurant, the Director of WIB Department in the program’s managing authority (Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development in Wrocław).
